Employer Frequently Asked Questions
Program and Eligibility
Does MARS replace our health insurance?
Which imaging services can be coordinated?
Depending on the agreement and local facility availability, services may include MRI, CT, ultrasound, X-ray, mammography, DEXA, PET, and certain cardiac diagnostic tests. An appropriate clinical order may be required.
Who is eligible to use the program?
Eligibility is defined in the employer agreement. Employer-sponsored requests remain pending until the required verification is completed by a pre-authorized employer contact.
Is participation exclusive?
Program terms are determined by the written agreement. MARS can be structured as a focused imaging-coordination resource without changing the employer’s broader benefits relationships.
Cost, Billing, and Scheduling
How is pricing handled?
MARS provides available cost guidance before scheduling. Final pricing depends on the ordered examination, facility, clinical requirements, payment arrangement, and employer agreement. Contract-specific rates are not published as a general price list.
Who pays for the examination?
Payment responsibility may rest with the employee or employer, depending on the program. Employer billing follows the agreed approval process, covered services, limits, invoice frequency, and payment terms.
When is an appointment scheduled?
Scheduling occurs after required order information, eligibility verification, authorization when applicable, and financial clearance are complete.
Does MARS guarantee a specific appointment time?
No. Facility options and appointment timing depend on examination requirements, location, availability, patient needs, and completion of required administrative steps.
Privacy, Reports, and Support
What information does the employer receive?
Employers receive only appropriate nonclinical information allowed by the program, such as verification or completion status. Clinical information is not released without an appropriate legal basis and authorization.
Who receives the imaging report?
The final report is routed to the referring physician through the approved secure process. Patients may request access after identity verification. Employers do not receive the report unless release is specifically authorized and legally permitted.
Is there an employer portal?
No employer portal is included in the current program version. Employer cases may be submitted through the approved website or staff-assisted process and verified through authorized contacts.
Who supports employees during coordination?
MARS serves as the administrative point of contact for imaging coordination. Clinical questions should be directed to the ordering clinician or imaging facility.
